Website Update

 We did a review on our Wix websites to prepare for our submissions. As we have done in the last term, we quickly checked through all the icons and links so that they were functioning as intended. All my important links have been functioning properly, however I noticed that the link to my Instagram sketchbook was not functioning.


 This may be because of how my account was still in private mode when I used the link for my website, and caused it to malfunction when it was no longer private by the end of Term 2. This problem was easily fixed by refreshing the link.



 Otherwise, there were no other malfunctioning links and stock images (which has been replaced last term already) so I went onto prepare the gallery for my portfolio presentation. As my portfolio page is prepared for another tile I simply created a new subpage for this term's portfolio, reused the tile from last term, and linked them together, the tile image to be replaced later on.




 Then I changed the texts from last term to fit to this terms, the image to be replaced later on.


 Lastly I changed the introduction text to my portfolio gallery as well, although it may be changed with a review from my tutor (introduction text and About Me text).

 I had a discussion with my tutor regarding the major project for sign off, and I was told to continue on the project. I was further told to research on topics related to my theme, such as logo and enamel pin designs in real life use from charities or companies, and to attend to an Abstract Art workshop in Week 5 as I had planned to use abstraction techniques in designing my work. End Term 1: Reflection Post

With this term, I have tried out many different projects, of some I liked and some I hated. I had initially struggled in the beginning; I have never tried out photography or any related projects, however as I progressed, I believe I have gotten more efficient in researching for my works and analysing how to better attract the audience I am aiming form. However, I feel like I was poor with time management, therefore affecting the quality of my works. This class was quite stressful in some ways, pushing my limits and boundaries, however I feel like I improved in the end.

Further Artist Research: Fluid Art and Emma Lindström

 Fluid art, also known as acrylic paint pouring and flow art, has been an art technique that has been rising in popularity due to its simplistic way of creating with  stunning result. It is made using acrylic paints, of which are usually soft body acrylics (thinner acrylic paints) or acrylic ink as they are already in liquid (or close to liquid) form, mixed to a pouring medium. Depending on the type of medium, it can create different effects such as having a layer of ‘coating’ or giving. A watercolour-like look. Pouring different pigments of acrylic pours give it interesting textures and patterns, making it one of techniques used in abstract art.
