Enamel pins are a small form of wearable decoration which can be placed in most fabric objects, from shirts, bags and neck ties. For a merchandise, they can be mass produced and sold at a cheap prices due their small size. For the same reason, it is an item which the general public can buy without being pressured by the design or the size of the object. For example, some may be hesitant to buy a T-shirt compared to a light pin. They will be less burdened financially as well, making it a good merchandise for charities to sell. As Signature Pins say ‘Enamel pins are a simple, expressive and creative way to showcase your organization's logo or mission in a memorable way’.

It also suits with the theme of helping the Earth by creating less carbon emissions and being recyclable. Enamel pins are made from different metals and minerals, which are some of the most recyclable materials that the Earth have. Due to their major composition being metal they also last extremely long, making them usable for years if taken care of. They are simple, environmental way to decorate yourself of your objects with minimal impact to the environment, and can be simple or complex in design to suit it the needs of the organisation.

They can also be produced at a quite cheap rate, although it depends on the target size and material they are working with. Usually, smaller and soft enamel pins cost much lesser than larger, hard enamel pins, the difference going between from $0.61 (0.51 GBP as of March 2023) to $3.48 (2.89 GBP as of March 2023) per pin. Charities often use a small size pins, so it would not be financially troublesome for the customers when considering the production fee and donation fee. It can be mass-produced as well within two to four weeks, so it would be easy for charities to work with different designs.

  1. Are you going to mock up your badge in the same way as your examples here? I think alongside the 2D digital images it would be good to see it as it might be made available in shops/online.
